Apologies for the lack of posts this week – many volunteers have been away at the same time – how dare they!
Normal service will be resumed this week. In the meantime have a read of the new article in Disconnected Jottings by Brian Basham. Thanks Brian….
One item that I would like to add to the excellent article by Brian Basham is :- Why are the signal spectacle glasses blue? Well, think back to you basic science classes. Blue and yellow make green! Therefore, when blue signal glass is mixed with a yellow flame from the oil lamp inside the lamp housing – we get green! which is the signal for go ahead. There. Cleared that one up and railway modellers please take note of the blue spectacles as well as when the none functional signals spectacle plates lower “glass” is painted green it just doesn’t look right. Hope this helps you all. Regards, Paul.
